ABOUT DISTRICT COURT
The Court of District & Sessions Judge, Tirap was established in the year 2019 with Shri. Hirendra Kashyap as the first District & Sessions Judge of Khonsa Sessions division and Court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class Cum Civil Judge (Junior Division) was established in the year 2013 with Shri. Damge Niri as the first judge of the JMFC Court. The territorial jurisdiction of Khonsa Sessions division includes Tirap, Changlang, and Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. The District & Sessions Court was also constituted/designated as the Special Court for NDPS Act, POCSO Act, Human Rights, MACT etc. in the year 2020.
DISTRICT LEGAL AID SERVICES AUTHORITY (DLSA)
Legal Aid Services are provided in the district through District Legal Aid Services Authority (DLSA). The weaker sections of the society who are in need of legal aid and could not afford legal case can approach the office of DLSA, Khonsa located within the Court complex. Legal literacy and awareness programmes are conducted in the district from time to time by the DLSA involving the panel lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers (PLV).
